Mighty Medusa (Habanero) 2026 Slot Review & Free Demo

In the myth, Perseus defeated Medusa without ever looking at her directly: he tracked the gorgon in the reflection of a polished shield, a gift from Athena. In Habanero's Mighty Medusa, you follow Perseus through Medusa's kingdom, while she waits on her throne. The game turns on the gorgon's double role: in the duel with Perseus she's the opponent, and then she becomes a giant wild in the middle of the grid herself.

The chronicle of the quest: a 6x4 grid, 466 Connected Ways (30 coins), high volatility, RTP from ~86% to 98% and a cap of x1,730. Two pillars hold up the mechanics: a duel between Medusa and Perseus adds a Wild to the reels, and Medusa herself appears as a colossal 2x2 Wild in the centre of the reels.

What happens when Perseus lands next to Medusa?

Medusa's kingdom is a 6x4 grid, 24 positions in all. Wins aren't counted along paylines but across 466 Connected Ways (30 coins).

The game's special feature is the Duel Feature. If Medusa and Perseus land next to each other, they trigger a duel, and a Wild is added to the reels.

Who holds the centre of the grid until Free Games end?

Medusa takes the centre, while Pegasus can show up on either side.

💡 The gorgon at the centre

Medusa appears as a colossal 2x2 Wild in the centre of the reels;
she stays there until Free Games end.

💡 Pegasus on the flanks

during Free Games, a colossal 2x2 Pegasus can appear at random;
Pegasus is a high-paying symbol;
its place is on reels 1 and 2 and reels 5 and 6.

The layout is symmetrical: Medusa holds the centre, and Pegasus is given a pair of reels on each side — 1–2 and 5–6.

How dangerous is the gorgon's gaze?

Volatility here is HIGH. The limit is known: the maximum multiplier is x1,730, or 1,730 times the bet, and that mark applies whether a colossal Medusa stands in the centre or a Pegasus appears on the side.

One part of this myth isn't written by Perseus or Medusa but by the casino: the RTP version.

⚠️ RTP only shows up in the reflection — the game info

Perseus could only see Medusa in the reflection of his shield, and you won't spot Mighty Medusa's RTP version on the reels either — the game info is where it shows. The venue sets one of five: ~86%, 92%, 94%, 97% or 98%, and from the bottom to the top is ≈12 percentage points of theoretical return. Take a look in that "mirror" before your first duel.

On Perseus's side

During Free Games, a 2x2 Pegasus — a high-paying symbol — can appear on reels 1–2 and 5–6.
466 Connected Ways on a 6x4 grid.

Under Medusa's gaze

HIGH volatility, and wins hit a wall at x1,730 — 1,730 times the bet.
Pegasus appears at random, and the rules only describe it for Free Games.
A duel needs Medusa and Perseus to land next to each other.
The reflection may show the ~86% RTP version — ≈12 points below 98%, and the venue makes that choice.

⚡ Mighty Medusa: opponent or ally?

The gorgon plays two roles in Mighty Medusa. Opponent: when Medusa and Perseus land next to each other, a duel begins and a Wild is added to the reels. Helper: she appears as a colossal 2x2 Wild in the centre of the reels and stays there until Free Games end, while on the flanks, on reels 1–2 and 5–6, a 2x2 Pegasus can turn up at random. Both roles answer to the same risk rules: HIGH volatility, an x1,730 cap and an RTP version between ~86% and 98% chosen by the casino — check it against the game info before you start. Perseus only looked at the gorgon through a reflection; here you can look her straight in the eye, because at the centre of the grid she's your wild.
