An honest account of how the project earns money and why this does not affect our scores.

GamblingShot is free for readers. So that you understand what keeps the project running, we openly explain our commercial model.

How we make money

Some links to casinos are affiliate links. If a user follows such a link and registers or makes a deposit, we may receive a commission from the operator. This does not increase the player’s costs: the price and terms at the casino are the same for you. Affiliate revenue is the main source of income that lets us keep the site free.

What this does NOT change

Scores, ratings and placement in our selections are not for sale. A casino cannot pay for a positive review, a higher rating or a position in a list. The size of an affiliate commission is not taken into account when scoring a platform. The editorial side and commercial arrangements are kept separate — see our editorial policy.

How commercial links are marked

Clicks through to casinos go via our redirect and are marked with the rel="sponsored" attribute — the standard way to flag an affiliate link for search engines. We do not disguise commercial links as editorial recommendations.

Not all links are affiliate links

The catalogue includes casinos we have no affiliate relationship with. They are described and scored by the same criteria as the rest. The absence of an affiliate deal does not lower a platform, and its presence does not raise one.

Conflict of interest

If an affiliate casino turns out to be unreliable or worsens its terms, the review reflects this just as directly as it would for any other platform. Where necessary, we lower the score or remove the affiliate link — the reader’s interests come before any single arrangement.
